Interview with Mom With A Kindle

Here's a Book Tour interview I did for Mom With A Kindle

  1. If you could have any superpower what would you choose?

Is shapeshifting a superpower? Is it bad I just answered your first question with a question?! I think shapeshifting would be so incredibly awesome and I can’t wait to dive deeper into that process in Book #2 and #3 of The Violet Hour Series. Though, unlike my series, I’m not sure it would be into wolf form. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could pick your form mid-shift? Today a wolf – tomorrow a dolphin. Is it weird that the two animals I chose are the ones most often depicted on those touristy t-shirts you can pick up in gas stations? I think not. I have one. It has 3 wolves on it to be exact.

  1. Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published.

Meeting all these really great people has been, hands down, the most amazing and rewarding experience. The fan support is so touching. The community of bloggers that want to help you succeed is indescribably crazy-awesome.

  1. Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.

Everything I write is me turned inside out, nothing more and honestly nothing special; but passionate readers - people who lose themselves in the maze of a story and feel that twinge of suffering when they know they are reaching the close of a book they wish would continue forever - those are the people that I hope to reach.

  1. Favorite food?

Can my answer be all food?! The list of foods I don’t like is shorter: water chestnuts.  If I must be specific, I think my all-time favorite food is tacos.  Seriously, you can make a taco out of anything.

  1. What book are you reading now?

I'm reading Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. It is a classic, but a classic fatal romance. Why such an extremely long classic, you might ask? Because a friend told me to.  She quoted me this line, "I've always loved you, and when you love someone, you love the whole person, just as he or she is, and not as you would like them to be.” It speaks to me on a billion different levels. I jumped on online and immediately downloaded it.

  1. What’s your favorite season/weather?

FALL! Yes, I did just yell that! I grew up in Michigan which I feel is one of top Fall-centric states in the country. Beautiful scenery comes to life in the Fall. Fall, you’ll find, is the season where a lot of The Violet Hour takes place.

  1. What was your favorite children's book?

Easy, The Last Puppy by Frank Asch. I was mad-obsessed with this book growing up as a child. Actually, this book/author is the first autograph I ever collected. I can actually remember waiting in line at a book signing – I was maybe 5 years old (give or take). I actually still have that signed copy tucked away in my immense book stash.

  1. Beach or Pool?

Um. Beach. But the beach of a lake, not the ocean. I mean, I love the ocean, but like I mentioned… I grew up in Michigan, so this chick is a lake chick!

  1. What is one book everyone should read?

Oh wow! That’s a really good question. I’m not so sure I’m qualified to properly answer this one but I’ll give it a go – Everyone Poops written by Taro Gomi. I mean, seriously.

  1. Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?

Yes, just like in real life, Logan Keller does not get to just run away with Prince Charming and live happily ever after. She is headed for heartbreak and grim choices in Book #2 for The Violet Hour Series. I won't spoil it, but I will say that I have nearly cried a few times writing this next novel. No matter how much fans and myself may love Luke Callahan, he is, at the end of the day, not a sure bet.
